INTRODUCTION OF THE HOUSES

NAIDU HOUSE

Sarojini Naidu, also known as Sarojini Chattopadhyaya, was a famous Indian poet and a major freedom fighter who went on becoming the first Indian woman to be appointed the president of the Indian National Congress and the Governor of any state in India. Most of all, she was a noted child prodigy and a master of the children's literature. Naidu was given a sobriquet Bharat Kokila (The Nightingale of India) on account of her beautiful poems and songs. Some of her best books that established her as a potent writer include The Golden Threshold, The Gift of India, and The Broken Wing. An active participant of the Indian Independence movement, Naidu joined the national movement taking Gandhi's call and joined him in the popular Salt March to Dandi. With the Indian Independence in 1947, Sarojini Naidu was made the Governor of the Uttar Pradesh in the wake of her contribution to the movement.

It is a matter of proud to celebrate the memories of the great poetess of INDIA. This house thanks the management for giving the golden chance.

KALAM HOUSE

As one of the most unprecedented, incredible, iconic Indian former president, most probably India received one of the greatest unrecoverable losses with Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam’s death. In generations to come, India will no doubt produce finer minds; it is unlikely to give us a bigger heart. More than his achievements as a missile and defence technologist, beyond governmental accomplishments and far removed from the prizes and honours he received, President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who passed away in Shillong on July 27, touched human lives. He stood out, and his legend grew and grew well after he demitted office as President in 2007, because he remained what he had always been: a warm, engaging man, curious and affable at the same time, at once inquisitive and professorial, and ever accessilble.

What we lost after his death is:

  • A missile man passed away,
  • A teacher passed away,
  • A dreamer passed away,
  • A motivator passed away,
  • A gentleman passed away,

Moreover, India’s hopes and progress as well.
